A distribution utility can only monitor and operate its network remotely if every circuit breaker, disconnector and protection relay in the field appears in the control centre with the correct signal. On substation automation projects we run the entire process, from engineering through commissioning.

We bring alarm, status, measurement and control signals from MV cells into SCADA via the RTU, design Local/Remote control scenarios and verify everything with end-to-end point-to-point (PtP) tests between field, RTU and SCADA. We apply this process substation by substation — across the 439 substations we completed on the SEDAŞ network and the 200 substations under way for UEDAŞ.

Substation automation is never a single device. Primary equipment, protection relays, the RTU, the communication infrastructure and the control-centre SCADA system all have to work together, and we take part in every link of that chain: signal lists and RTU engineering, SCADA panel design and manufacturing, protection relay integration, commissioning the communication network and, finally, end-to-end testing between field, RTU and SCADA.

We have worked in the field with Hitachi Energy RTU530, Siemens SICAM A8000 CP-8031 and SICAM TM CP-6014 RTUs and with ABB REX615 and Schneider Electric Easergy P3 protection relays, with relay communication over IEC 61850. The experience gained on SEDAŞ, UEDAŞ and KCETAŞ projects lets new substations and expansion projects be commissioned with the same discipline.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does substation automation cover?

Bringing alarm, status, measurement and control signals from MV switchgear breakers, disconnectors and protection relays to the control-centre SCADA system through the RTU; Local/Remote control scenarios, the communication infrastructure, and end-to-end testing of the whole chain.

How do you prove a substation is correctly integrated into SCADA?

We verify every signal between field, RTU and SCADA with point-to-point (PtP) tests: each status or alarm raised in the field must appear in the control centre with the right label, and each command from the centre must operate the right breaker in the field.

Which distribution companies have you worked for?

We completed SCADA work in 439 substations on the SEDAŞ network, are working in 200 substations under the UEDAŞ 2026 SCADA Project, and integrated two solar PV plants into SCADA in the KCETAŞ region.

Which RTU and relay platforms do you work with?

Hitachi Energy RTU530, Siemens SICAM A8000 CP-8031 and SICAM TM CP-6014 RTUs; ABB REX615 and Schneider Electric Easergy P3 protection relays. Relay communication uses IEC 61850.
